Denver M. Kring, age 94, peacefully went to be with his Lord on Monday, June 5, 2017, in Russellville, Arkansas, surrounded by family. He was born March 12, 1923, in Genoa, Arkansas. He was a resident of Longview, Texas for over 70 years. He was a member of Calvary Christian Tabernacle. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Dora Elizabeth Kring; his daughter, Debbie Kay Barnes; his parents; two brothers; three sisters; and one great-grandchild.
Survivors include his children, Tim Kring of Lake Livingston, Texas, Tony Kring and wife, Teresa of Russellville, Arkansas, and Ronny Kring and wife, Sheila of Kingwood, Texas; one brother, Curtis Kring; three sisters, Angel Smith, Sylvia Green, and Joyce Adams; six grandchildren, Paula Evans, Stephen (Regina) Kring, William (Satori) Barnes, Beth Kilpatrick, Dylan Kring, and Barret Kring; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Kring was a hardworking man. He was employed as a welder at Axelson Industries for 42 years. Because of his welding and trade skills, he was commissioned to help build battleships in World War II. He was very talented in building things with his hands which included house building and a unique miniature working train out of scrap metal. He loved beautiful things including his house and unique furniture. The important priorities in his life were church, family, and friends. He never met a stranger and had a great sense of humor that was enjoyed by many. He never left home without his hat and his engaging personality.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Welch Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2017, at Welch Funeral Home, 4619 Judson Road, Longview, Texas with Rev. Charles Chargois officiating. Entombment will be in Memory Park Mausoleum.
