Joseph Lindell Roden was born April 30, 1935 and passed away Friday, June 2, 2017. Joseph was born in Oklahoma City, OK to Joe & Maudie Roden. He graduated high school in Odessa, TX and later began his career at Western Company. In August on 1957, he married his wife of 60 years, Mary Hearnsberger. Joseph served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Joseph and Mary moved to Longview in 1971, where he retired from Continental Can Company. After retirement, Joe and Mary owned and operated Longview Driving Range.
Joseph was an avid woodcarver and gardener. He spent his free time planting his garden and carving many creative wood creations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Selena Childs, his brothers Joy, Mac, and Van Roden and his sister, Meddie Lee. He is survived by his wife Mary, daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Loyd Hall, daughter Lori Griffith, son and daughter-in-law Jay and Kimberly Roden, son-in-law John Childs, sister Dell Poe and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The services will be held at Welch’s funeral home in Longview Monday June 5, 2017 at 10 am with visitati immediately following.
