Katherine G. (Neal) LinesJanuary 30, 1927 ~ January 12, 2018 (age 90)
Katherine G. (Gibby) Lines passed away peacefully Friday, January 12, 2018, at the Home Place Hospice of East Texas in Tyler. She was one of nine children born to Jeff and Nancy Neal on January 30 of 1927 In Portland, Tennessee.
She and her husband of 55 years, Billy Lines, married in Indianapolis, Indiana. Both Katherine and Billy lost their parents at an early age and cherished all the years of their marriage. They moved to Columbus, Indiana in 1955 and in 1956 Katherine gave birth to their only son, Jeff. Katherine was a devoted wife and mother as the caretaker of her family. Proverbs 31:11-12 are the verses that best describe her relationship with her loving husband…" The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life." They simply treasured one another.
After Bill's retirement from Cummins Diesel Engine Company, they spent several wonderful years in Leesburg, Florida. Katherine has resided with her son and daughter-in-law since Bill's passing in 2001. She was a member of the Longview Baptist Temple where she was called "Grandma Lines". She will be missed, but what a grand reunion when she was reunited with the husband she adored!
She was preceded by her husband, Billy and two miscarried children. She is survived by a son, Jeff and a daughter-in-law, Teresa. Grand-daughters Donna Lines-Robinson and Katherine Harkness, and son-in-law Adam Harkness, as well as four great-grandchildren: Bradley, Scott, Jenni and Dylan Harkness.
Visitation will be Monday, January 22 at 10:00 a. m. with a service following at 11:00. The service will be held at the Longview Baptist Temple officiated by her pastor Dr. Bob Gray, II.
Interment will be in Grand Rapids, Michigan where there will be a graveside service at the Winchester Cemetery. Dates of that service are unknown at this time.
