Burial or entombment in a casket is the most common method of disposing of remains in the United States. Cremation is increasingly selected because it can omit the need to purchase cemetery property and cemetery merchandise.  A funeral service followed by cremation need not be any different from a funeral service followed by a burial.  Cremation is simply a means of final disposition, just as burial.  Families are pleased to know they can still have a visitation, viewing, traditional services and heal with family, friends, church members, and colleagues.
