Gerald Glenn Fennell, 60, of Frankston died January 6, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents, Horace Randall and Doris Darlene Fennell.
Glenn was born in Longview, TX on January 28, 1957. He was a 1975 graduate of Kilgore High School. He was a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and worked for programs such as Daytop and Sister Communities Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse. He loved his work and led many people to sobriety and victory.
Glenn was also a lifelong musician. He performed throughout East Texas with various bands and toured the nation with the band Shotgun Creek. He recorded a country gospel album with his sister-in-law. He had a passion for teaching children guitar. He was a devout Christian and a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Hefelfinger Fennell; his daughter, Stephanie Fennell; his sons and daughters-in-law, Justin and Nicole Farmer and Jody and Shelbey Farmer; his sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Robert Adams; his brothers and sister-in-law, Randy and Karen Fennell and Pete Luman; five grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and many close friends.
The visitation will be held Tuesday, January 9 from 6-8 pm at Welch Funeral Home. Memorial services are scheduled at 2 pm on Wednesday, January 10.
