Jim (James Walter) Hintson was born on December 20, 1945, to Allan and Ann Hintson in Vicksburg, Mississippi and completed his earthly journey on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at his home in Longview. He was Baptist and gave his life to the Jesus at a young age. He grew up a country boy, working on his uncle's farm picking cotton and vegetables. He was an avid duck hunter but spent most of his time fishing bass and then crappie.

While stationed in Alameda, California, he met and fell in love with and eventually married Jody Hintson spending 51 happily married years with her.
After the service, Jim worked for the State of California and upon moving to Texas in 1976, sold boats for Skeeter Boats in Kilgore, before becoming a Snapon Tool Dealer and eventually, a Mac Dealer. He ended his working career at Barnes Distribution and Plano Marine.
