   A Celebration of Life for John Owen Hudman, Jr., 69, of Longview will be 1:00 o'clock in the afternoon, Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Mulberry Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Warbington officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Old Shiloh Cemetery in Mt. Enterprise, Texas. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation Friday, December 15, 2017, from 6 o'clock in the evening until 8 o'clock in the evening in the Garden Court of Welch Funeral Home. Mr. Hudman passed away Monday, December 11, 2017, in a Houston hospital.
   John was born August 28, 1948, in Shreveport, Louisiana to John Owen, Sr. and Lila Mae Ferris Hudman. He retired from Penzoil after 30 years of service. Mr. Hudman served many years as a Little League baseball coach. He was a huge baseball fan and collector of all things baseball, especially Nolan Ryan. He loved all kinds of travel especially to Utah and Red Rock country. He especially loved white water rafting and was a longtime member of the Houston Civil War Round Table. John was a member of Mulberry Springs Baptist Church.
   Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Barbara Hudman; daughter, Jennifer Hudman; son, Robert E. Hudman and wife, Patricia Hudman; grandsons, Warren Hudman; Bryan Hudman; Trenton Hudman; Brandon Shelton and Chase Shelton; granddaughters, Chloe Hudman; Alyssa MacDonald; Julianna Schulze and Emma Schulze; brother, Robert Hudman and wife, Amy Hudman; step-daughters, Christine MacDonald and husband, Karl Murray; Rajean Schulze and husband, John Schulze. He was preceded in death by his parents.
   Pallbearers attending will be Warren Hudman, Bryan Hudman, Trenton Hudman, John Schulze, Karl Murray, and Lance Mosley. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Hudman and Robert E. Hudman.
