Terry Glen Nealy, 66, of Longview TX, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2018. He was the youngest of three sons born to Thomas Alton and Helen Nealy on November 10, 1951, in Minden, LA. The family moved to Lake Cherokee where he developed his life long love of fishing. He graduated from Longview High School in 1970. He attended SFA in Nacogdoches where he began dating his bride- to -be, Kathryn Avery. The couple was blessed with a daughter and a son. A devoted father, Terry supported his family by working as a survey coordinator at an engineering firm, but his favorite job was grandparenting He loved being Dan Dan! Terry was an avid outdoorsman, handyman, medic, grill master, happy camper, and little league baseball fan. He loved spending time entertaining and serving others. His concept of family was broad enough to include just about everyone. Terry had a way of being there for you no matter what the challenge.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Alton and Helen Nealy. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Kathryn; brothers, James and Tommy; children and their spouses, Kristi Smith and Brant, and Trey Nealy and Amber; grandchildren Kara, Alli, Tristen, and Kayla; sisters-in-law, Anne Poyner and Susan Avery; honorary daughter Mary Grace and numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation Friday, February 23, 2018, from 6 o’clock in the evening until 8 o’clock in the evening in the Garden Court of Welch Funeral Home. A Life Celebration Funeral will be held Saturday, February 24, 2018, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon in the Chapel of Welch Funeral Home.
