William "Billy" Leonard Marshall of Longview, Texas passed away peacefully after a long illness at his residence with family. Billy was born in Rusk County December 4, 1934 to Leonard Ellis and Ruby Pearl Roberts Marshall. Preceding him in death, His parents, Leonard and Ruby, his brothers John and Jim Marshall and his sisters Jean Haling and Dora Bean. Billy graduated from Henderson High School. He served in the Military from Oct.6, 1953 thru Oct 5,1955 and then moved to Lake Cherokee. He worked for the Eastman Chemical Plant for 38 years before retiring. He was a Mason and served as the Worshipful Master of Longview Masonic Lodge #404. He was also a Shriner and loved to ride in the little fire truck in the local parades. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge of Longview, Texas. Billy and Norma had been active in the Lakeview Baptist Church until his declining health would no longer allow it. One of His and Norma's favorite things to do was to cruise to the Carribean. A lover of life, he loved people and never met a stranger. Billy was a loving Father and Grandfather.
He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of 18 years, Norma Lois Ashmore Marshall, his son Steve Marshall and wife Wendy, daughter Gloria Keith and husband Scott. Stepchildren and spouses Steve Ashmore and wife Teresa, Robert Ashmore and wife Madonna, and Kara Beth Quinn and husband Charles, and grandchildren Kipp and Brady Marshall, Jeffery and Kristi Keith. Jeremy & Emily Peacock, Michelle, Nick, Spencer, Judson Ashmore, Chaz, Seth, and Shay Quinn, and great grandchildren , Nicholas & Keith Lynch, Lilliana Marshall, Steven Ashmore and Lennox Ashmore. His sister Cherry Howeth.
Pallbearers attending will be: Jeffery Keith, Brady Marshall, Nick Ashmore, Spencer Ashmore, Judson Ashmore and Steven Ashmore.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation Monday, October 16 beginning at 9 o'clock in the morning with the funeral service immediately following at 10 o'clock.
